True refurbishment!
FenderTeam has once more proven its capabilities to provide customers with tailor made engineered solutions for true fender refurbishment on existing quay structures.
The photos show a quay operated by African Minerals in Liberia before and after.
General contractor BAM International from Netherlands in JV with Stefanutti Stocks Marine from South Africa decided to place an order for the fenders and the detailed design with FenderTeam.
Their client wanted an upgrading of the old berthing facilities to accommodate modern vessels, however without the need for major structural modifications. Not an easy task considering the particular wharf face which was originally built in the 70s to accommodate 4 pcs axial mounted cylindrical fenders behind a timber cladded fender panel.
With only little room to install the new fenders the systems is mounted on a subframe steel structure where fender and all chains connect to.
The project was headed by a very tight schedule and Fenderteam was able to deliver within agreed time.
